A new Webinar series on EM Shielding Fundamentals provides training in techniques for EMC, coupling and radiation, shielding, and grounding - without leaving your desktop. The new webinar will be available this February 5-9 and is presented by instructor Allen Podell. The webinars are offered as five, 90-minute Webex conference sessions where you can ask questions and view CAD examples from the instructor's computer. Just log-in from your computer with a high speed internet connection and speakers or headphones. The amount of material covered is roughly equivalent to a one-day classroom course.
Eighty percent of the 3 Billion cell phones in the world today are GSM. Most of these phones provide excellent voice quality service, but limited data capability, using GPRS, of about 50 kbps, which is about the same as wired telephone dial up. The GSM community has an evolution plan to grow its data capability through EDGE, WCDMA and HSDPA to over 1 Mbps. Industry analysts believe that all GSM customers will be serviced by WCDMA for voice and HSDPA for data by 2010. The new RF Measurements for GSM Evolution course will demonstrate the use of modern signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal analyzers to measure RF components and systems to each of the specification sets in the GSM global hierarchy. This 3 day course is a follow-on to Besser Associates popular RF Measurements—Principles and Demonstrations course, and will be offered this March 26-28 in Sunnyvale, CA with a special promotional price of $995 if you register by February 19th.
This March, our popular Advanced Power Amplifier Techniques course will be offered in Sunnyvale, CA. Each attendee will receive a copy of Steve Cripps' book RF Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications, Second Edition.
From the publisher's website: "This extensively revised edition of the best-selling Artech House book, RF Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications, offers you a comprehensive, practical, and up-to-date understanding of how to tackle a power amplifier design with confidence and quickly determine the cause of malfunctioning hardware. Among the numerous updates, the Second Edition includes five new chapters on class AB PAs at GHz frequencies; switching PA modes at GHz frequencies; signals, modulation systems, and PA nonlinearities; power amplifier bias circuit design; and load-pull techniques. Chapters on efficiency enhancement methods and Class F design have been substantially extended, and many more practical examples and design tools are included on the accompanying CD-ROM."
Needless to say, this will be a great chance to learn the newest RF power amplifier techniques directly from the author. Sign up today to receive early-bird pricing and reserve your seat in this popular course.
Our Short Range Wireless Networks course covers the fundamentals of design, deployment, and operation. Participants will study indoor signal propagation characteristics, advanced modulation techniques, network connectivity options, and regulation of unlicensed bands. Next, the IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN, IEEE 802.15.1 Bluetooth, WiMedia high-rate WPAN, and IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee low-rate WPAN specifications are examined in detail, and their operations compared. Security issues are addressed at the PHY and MAC level. Finally, interference between various wireless networks is analyzed and methods for improving their coexistence presented. The course is offered February 26-March 01 in San Diego, CA.
Temperatures may have been mild across the country, but there's still good reasons to visit San Diego this February. The Besser Associates program for 2007 in San Diego features some of our most popular seminars. Why not stay an extra day and enjoy some of the local attractions? Our courses are held outside of the downtown area to minimize travel costs, but you are still close enough to enjoy some sightseeing.
International customers note: favorable currency exchange rates make our courses an even better value!
