Next Webcast: Power Amplifiers

The 2008 Webinar series from Microwave Journal and Besser Associates continues this month with a tutorial on Power Amplifiers . Instructor Allen Podell will present the upcoming webcast on May 20 at 11AM Eastern Time. There is no charge for this presentation. This presentation discusses basic power amplifier concepts, classes of operation, linearity, and efficiency enhancement techniques. Don't miss out on this opportunity to see the presentation and ask questions in the Q&A session that follows. Visit the Microwave Journal Resources page for more information about the upcoming webcast, and to sign up. You can also view the recorded sessions of previous webcasts in the series.

Besser Associates presents Advanced RF Power Amplifier Techniques this May 12-15 in Boston. This is an advanced level four day RF design course, dealing with the theory and design of RF power amplifiers for wireless, satcom, and microwave applications. The course features in-depth treatment of PA design, PA modes, envelope power management and circuit level linearisation techniques. A complimentary copy of instructor Steve Cripps' book, RF Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications, Second Edition, is included in the registration price.

Allen will be teaching the five-day Advanced Wireless and Microwave Techniques seminar in August in San Jose, CA. This course provides participants with an in-depth examination of advanced RF and microwave design techniques. Antennas and filters are covered briefly, followed by a detailed discussion of figures of merit. Mixers and oscillator designs are also evaluated. Considerable attention is devoted to defining, classifying, and improving the efficiency and linearity of power amplifiers. Numerous design examples are provided for participant exploration.

Also offered in San Jose will be the Ultra Linear High Efficiency Power Amplifier Design course, presented by Ed Niehenke. This five-day course presents the latest design techniques for ultra linear, high efficiency power amplifiers. The first three days cover high efficiency power amplifier design techniques while the last two days focus on the design of linear power amplifier systems.

Visit Us in Atlanta at the MTT-IMS Show!

Join Besser Associates (booth #1006) at the International Microwave Symposium to be held in Atlanta, GA this June 15-20. Over 700 exhibitors will be on the show floor, making this one of the largest RF/Microwave shows every year.

Next Course in the Web Classroom: RF Fundamentals

Take your next class online! Equivalent to a full day seminar, our web classroom courses consist of five 90-minute live sessions offered via web conference. Similar to a live course, these seminars feature a small audience (10-20 students) where you can interact with the instructor and ask questions at any time. You will receive a PDF copy of the course manual so that you can print it out and take notes as the course progresses. Corporate exclusive courses are available for a variety of subjects and are a great way to train groups that are spread out across the continent or around the world. Our next public course in the web classroom, RF Fundamentals, will be presented June 23-27, 2008 by Les Besser. Just log-in to the class from your computer each day with a high speed internet connection and speakers or headphones - no travel required!

New Custom Email Reminders

We are now offering a custom email service that provides you a list of upcoming courses based on your interests. Basically, if you find one of our courses interesting, we send you a reminder 3-4 times a year (every time we update our schedule) showing all upcoming public course dates for that course as well as any that are similar based on the subject areas covered. This is a small list that we maintain in the office, so if you are interested in a course, just send us an email and ask to be reminded when the course is offered in the future. We are working on adding this feature to our website soon.
