Next Webcast: EMC Basics
The 2009 Webinar series from Microwave Journal and Besser Associates continues with EMC Basics by instructor Orin Laney. This webcast presents an introduction to EMC concepts. The presentation will include the following topics:
- EM radiation
- Shield theory and Faraday cages
- Return current path management
- Transmission line basics
- Common and differential modes
- Introduction to filters

Next Web Classroom Course: RF Fundamentals
This course provides circuit-level designers with the essential concepts needed to work effectively with high frequency electronics. Participants gain analytical, graphical, and computer-aided techniques to analyze and optimize RF circuits in practical situations. The course addresses linear active circuit design, focusing on stability, bandwidth, and noise considerations.
Upon completing the course, the participant will be able to:
• Describe RF circuit parameters and terminology.
• State the effects of parasitics on circuit performance at RF.
• Use graphical design techniques and the Smith Chart.
• Match impedances and perform transformations.
• Predict RF circuit stability and stabilize circuits.
• Design small signal and low noise RF amplifiers.

Visit Besser Associates at the MTT-S Show
Visit Besser Associates at the MTT International Wireless Symposium (booth #1113). The show will be held in Boston June 7-12. Instructor Allen Podell will be co-chairing a session on Power Dividers. Steve Cripps will be presenting a course on Doherty Power Amplifiers, as well as a paper in the session on Advances in PA and TX technologies. Earl McCune will present a paper in the same PA technologies session on Polar Modulators and PA Design. Steven Best presents a session on Advances in the Design of Electrically Small Antennas. Ed Niehenke, MTT Society Ombudsman, is involved with the student competition on the subject of Low Noise Amplifier Design. More information can be found at the official website.
