Reducing VHF Radiated EMI with an RC Snubber

Author
Arturo Mediano

Instructor Arturo Mediano has published an article with In Compliance magazine on reducing VHF EMI from a flyback power supply.

Usually, EMC design guidelines in flyback literature are related with the switching effects of the output transistor to minimize emissions for conducted tests in the 9 kHz to 30 MHz range. But failure in radiated emissions in the VHF range is typical when testing the product for EMC compliance.

10 Hints for Making Vector Network Analyzer Measurements

Author
Agilent/Keysight Technologies

This app note briefly discusses ten different useful topics related to making VNA measurements.
From the table of contents:
HINT 1. Measuring high-power amplifiers
HINT 2. Compensating for time delay in cable measurements
HINT 3. Improving reflection measurements
HINT 4. Using frequency-offset for mixer, converter and tuner measurements
HINT 5. Increasing the accuracy of noninsertible device measurements
HINT 6. Aliasing in phase or delay format
HINT 7. Quick VNA calibration verification

How Wireless Works (from Skyworks)

Skyworks has a brief animated video describing "how wireless works" for people with no technical background. It does a pretty good job of describing the role of wireless hardware in today's products. It could be useful to help explain your career to those with no idea of what wireless connectivity involves. You might want to bookmark the page before your next family gathering!
